After the phenomenal success of last years Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest, festival fans are anxiously awaiting the line up for this years event. The festival, which is now in its fifteenth year, is expected to be one of the biggest and best to date. Several companies have already partnered with Summerfest Productions, the producers of the marquee event, to sponsor this years staging.
Title sponsors, Red Stripe, are back on board again for the third year of its contract. Wayne Lawrence, Marketing Director of Red Stripe, said that he is expecting another great production from Summerfest Productions that will attract a wide cross section of people to the event.
“We want to extend our heartiest congratulations to the organizers of Reggae Summerfest on their 15th anniversary. As the title sponsor and supporter of the festival for the past three years, we are excited by their plans to make this year’s festival both innovative and memorable. We look forward to catching up with old friends, making new ones, all while enjoying an awesome line-up, and an ice cold Red Stripe beer,” said Mr. Lawrence. Carlo Redwood, Group Marketing Manager at Red Stripe echoed similar sentiments saying that another first class event is what he expects. He also disclosed that Red Stripe would be bringing new and innovative things to the festival including a specially made long neck bottling of Red Stripe for the Red Summer.
Zachary Harding of Wisynco says that he is pleased to have renewed the sponsorship of Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest for the fourth year in a row. He disclosed that Ocean Spray would be Wisynco’s lead brand for Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest this year as the official non alcohol beverage.
“Last year was an excellent one for Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest, probably one of the best for the decade. It was very well organized and the production was excellent,” Mr. Harding said. He went on to say that Wisynco expects nothing less this year.
Meanwhile, Sponsorship and Promotions Manager at Digicel, Maurice Bryan says that Digicel signed a three year contract with Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest because it is by far the most successful event on the entertainment calendar in Jamaica.
“Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest is the largest reggae festival in Jamaica. It helps Digicel to connect and interact with its customers and gives us an opportunity to add our own flair and international appeal to the event,” Mr. Bryan commented.
Air Jamaica, has also signed on, again as the official airline of the festival.
Tracey Ann Menzies, Marketing Manager at Air Jamaica, said that she was happy to be aligned with a high quality entertainment product like Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest. Miss Menzies said she hopes that the partnership will help to leverage the Air Jamaica brand and affirm its role as a truly Jamaican product.“Through this partnership, Air Jamaica will be able to fuse the melting pot of cultures through air traffic from our various gateways. Air Jamaica will significantly contribute to the overall entertainment industry and confirm that we have stood the test of time, as reggae music has done throughout the years,” Miss Menzies stated.
Several other companies have signaled interest in signing on to the event and are in current negotiations. Summerfest Productions remains committed to producing a world class event that will attract scores of reggae fans from all across the world and showcase our indigenous music and culture.
